My family was a well-functioning unit and now we are in a dysfunctional place. We all would come together for all of our family functions and we never talked down to each other. With eight kids plus mom and dad, we had a lot of family functions. We were a very close family. All of us have always showed up for all of the family birthdays, most sporting events, concerts, and all tournaments for the kids. We use to have a monthly taco night and spent all major holidays together. Now we see each other twice a year at my daughters’ roller derby competitions in Washington and Oregon only. We had all the members’ assigned different tasks to complete by certain dates. We could not place the flowers until the base and frame were done and we could not pain if the flowers were on too early. We had two drummers that decided no one would notice that they were goofing of more than helping. Final hours were approaching and the items on their list were not done.
