She is the last one from all her “friends from leaving and it seems to be the only thing she’s been wanting to do, but things don’t always goes how you planed them. In the novel Everyone Leaves, Wendy Guerra writes,” I’m in Havana, and I try to go forward, a little each day. But once the caribbean's freezes, there’s no chance of going anywhere. Over here I continue to write in my Diary, wintering with my thoughts, unable to move, condemned forever to be in the very same place”(254).
