After the Taliban came to conquer, they had a whole new set of rules and the list of rules regarding the females got quite long. Some examples of the rules are that a female had to wear a burqa, they could not use cosmetics, or they couldn’t even be seen in their own house by an outsider. The windows had to be painted so they couldn’t be seen(Handout 4.1). These rules were very strict and if they were broken, there would be hell to pay. The women who broke the rule could have been whipped, stoned, or even have a limb amputated. This was way too extreme.
In the world today, Afghanistan is still a dangerous place to live. The main source of economic growth relies on illegal drug trade. Civilian casualties have actually increased in recent years and the Taliban says that they plan to continue to use Pakistan as a base for launching attacks against the United States and its allies. The United States have tried to eliminate the Taliban and al-Qaeda but have had limited success(Ebscohost). Many U.S. troops are to stay in Afghanistan and maybe more will have to travel there in order to stop the attacks. It is not a safe place to be because of terrorist groups like the Taliban.
Although Afghanistan is still a dangerous place and the Taliban continues to mistreat women and children, there have been many efforts to stop their powerful reign. They are a terrible terrorist group and need to be stopped in order
