The Taling Goldfish
After a tiring day at school I headed home. I had so much homework to do. On my way I saw a pet shop and smiled. I decided to go in for a toy for my cat. I walked past the adorable rabbits. Then I saw it. It was exotic looking fish with golden scales and red fins. I just had to get it. There was a girl standing beside me and she told me 'It's a gorgeous fish isn't it?' I walked out thinking of ways to persuade my parents to let me get him. I was so distracted that I forgot about the toy for Felix.

When I got home my mother took one look at me and asked 'What do you want now?' My mother is amazing. She always knows what I'm thinking. 'Well I was thinking about having another pet.' I said nervously 'What's wrong with Felix?' she asked me. 'Nothing but I was in the pet shop and I saw a really cool fish.' I told her. 'If you can be responsible for two pets you can.' She explained. 'Thank you so much!' I squealed. Little did I know this was a very bad idea.

The next day after school I went to the pet shop. I looked in the fish tank but the fish wasn't there. I went up to the counter and the girl I talked to yesterday was there. I asked her 'excuse me but have you any more of those fish that we were looking at yesterday.' 'We have only one left.' she smiled. 'I would like to buy it please.' I replied. She gave me a bowl and food first and then the fish. I stared at it. It was really cool. I paid for them and headed home.

As soon as I got in the front door my dad called out for me. I put the stuff on the table for a minute. I went to my dad and helped him with the boxes he was carrying. As soon I was finished I ran back to the fish. I filled the bowl with water and tipped the fish in. Felix climbed onto the counter and was looking at the fish hungrily. I noticed this so I pushed Felix off the counter. I swear I heard someone saying thank god. I ignored that and headed to my room.

After supper I gave the fish some food. He gulped it down greedily. Felix's eyes

It was a Super Bowl game night. The San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens were playing as me and my family watched. The sound of popcorn popping in the kitchen and the smell of biscuits in the oven was all around the house. Later on that evening, I felt that there was something wrong, so I tiptoed away from the living room to go look for my dog, and when I found her, she was breathing really hard as if she had ran a marathon. The Starfish

The asteroid, more commonly known as the starfish, or sea star, is an invertebrate that lives mainly in an oceanic environment. These unique and unusual creatures have a number of arms that protrude away from their spiny skinned bodies. The exact number of arms depends on the species; some have only three, and the most is 42. Most people commonly associate the starfish with having five arms. However, there are many species of starfish that have 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 arms. Each arm that extends out of the "body" is covered on the bottom by many tube-like feet. These feet help convey the starfish but taking water in and the pumping it out, therefore enabling it to move. When the water is pumped, the feet extend and contract. The pumping of the water is implemented by a complex structure of internal valves that use hydraulic pressure. The tube feet help the starfish in feeding, as well as locomotion. Most species of starfish eat a variety of foods, some being meat, and others plants, therefore making it an omnivore. Its diet includes plankton, coral, and oysters. The larger species tend to eat birds, predominantly the sea gull. The starfish will catch the bird while it is searching for fish to feed on and then proceed to drown it. It then eats and digests its prey. These large starfish also tend to feed on sea urchins, fish, and crabs. This makes the larger species carnivores, as opposed to omnivores. Even though the starfish has the ability to regenerate body limbs that have been torn away from their body, if any internal tissue is even slightly damage, the creature will most likely die. Other than this limitation, the starfish is subject to immortality. The starfish can vary in color, from the bright and vivid designs of the tropical species, to the dull oranges and yellows of the deep-ocean dwellers. Blue, red, and green are very common colors that appear on the star. The sea star has to practices of reproduction. First, the opposite sexes can mate by spawning the…

Our first instinct was to grab the coolest controller. I shoved my brother and dove after it, but then Hugh gave Josh a different controller and my ill-informed attempt to get the coolest controller was a failure. A couple hours later, my sister yelled down at us that it was time for lunch. Again, I shoved my brother and darted up the stairs trying to get food as fast as possible. I got to the top of the stairs and hear this ear-piercing squaaawk, I stopped and dropped to the floor holding my ears. I looked up and there was this small bird in a cage bobbing his head and staring at me as if it were laughing at me. I got to my feet and slumped down in a chair at the table. Luckily, no one noticed me hitting the floor. Hugh and Josh made their way up the stairs and sat down at the table. Hugh’s mom brought over lunch, grilled cheese and tomato-basil soup. Prior to that moment, I had never liked tomato soup, but this was…
