The building of our main character in this story starts out odd, to say the least. Our main character which happens to also be the narrator states "he is not mad but is in fact diseased". After the body was fully dismembered our narrator takes three planks out of the floor in the chamber to hide the body. He then carefully replaces each board back into its original position as to show no signs of being tampered with, not even his own scrutinizing eye could he see the difference. Utilizing his method of murder the killer had little mess to clean-up beings there was nothing to wash out or a stain of any kind. It is after our narrator makes this comment that he states "the tub had caught it
