The Three Fates In Macbeth

The play Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragedy revolved around the hero Macbeth. He has done many things wrong, such as murder his king and his best friend for the sake of keeping the crown. Although Macbeth is seen as the villain who causes the downfall of Scotland, the Weird Sisters made Macbeth ambitious of being King and made him feel invincible. Even though they knew what would ultimately happen if they told Macbeth the prophecies, they still told him. As the play opens to see the Weird Sisters, a mood of hostility and evilness radiates from them. This is justified later as they meet Macbeth and Banquo after the heroes win the battle against Macdonwald and Norway. They say, “All hail, Macbeth! They were successfully able to before telling Macbeth what he was going to become. They also must have known that by telling Macbeth, he would lead Scotland and himself to a terrible end. When the Weird Sisters talk to Hecate, she becomes angry at them for telling Macbeth his destiny. She says, “Saucy and overbold, how did you dare / to trade and traffic with Macbeth / in riddles and affairs of death...”(3.5.3-5) and means that the Weird Sisters were not supposed to tell Macbeth about his future. She also says, “He shall spurn fate, scorn death, and bear / his hopes ‘bove wisdom, grace, and fear,”(3.5.30-31) because she knows that he will react this way to what she will tell him.
