The Three Musketeers
The Three Musketeers This film brought a lot of adventurous action to the viewer and brought much enthusiasm too. This thriller featured the three musketeers whose names where athos, aramis, porthos who worked in secret missions. This team was tricked by Milady de Winter who was a cunning and evil woman. Who also betrayed her team especially Athos who loved her dearly. This movie had vigorous scenes and creative story line especially the time period of the 1700s to the late 1800s. The director of the film set scenes in USA especially California which was a very unique area. Later in this film shows a new musketeer whose name is D'Artagnan who is clever and a master with using sword. He was raised taught like a musketeer and found fellows which were like him. In the movie the two main characters who revealed most of themselves is Athos and Milady de Winter. These characters shared a love that was unlike any other but betrayed him. Without these two in the movie the whole plot of the story wouldn’t happen into place. Their impact brought more rivalry and how their differences could make two rulers fight. This movie brought also much essence because of the great story but more of a political because the clash of the rulers. This also brought spiritual essence because their beliefs in royalty as well. Lastly this film was not based on a true story because it didn’t follow what happened according to history. But some parts aligned very well such as the kings and queens and more. This movie was great for the family and some comedy aspects too. This taught tactical and informational ways of living back then. And of course this movie had a great ending which brought happiness and joy. The palace is resting in peace until Milady de Winter will come back for her precious diamond.

The Three Musketeers movie we watched was the most unrealistic movie I ever seen. Mickey Mouse's three Musketeers was better , it is better than this one. First unreadiness is people had not invented diving mask or harpoon guns. Back then there were no pressure plate traps. In the move the Rochefort ,Head of guards, Shoots D’Artagnan, one of the main character, shoot and says that musket pistol aim was off, you can try aim musket but it doesn't help, musket can’t hit accurate unless you are three feet in front of them. D’Artagnan goes to Paris and started chasing the man that got him. His name is Rochfort. When he gets chanced, he runs into one of the Arthurmos and says, “he was duel him at 1:00.” He then runs into Porthos…

This movie took so many unexpected turns it is unbelievable. The most interesting thing is that considering the era when the movie took place, there is such a rich plot and the overall story is extremely intriguing. This movie exhibits many social standards that we often still face today making it somewhat relatable to present day society. Feelings of insecurity was really the main background of this movie and that is what made it most relatable. As many events in history are remade into movies, films, or documentaries to depict the emotions and the stories of the people who were involved in the events, or witnessed them.Because movies can’t always depict real life events exactly as they happened, movies are changed as well and can be different from the actual event. There are however similarities showing the events and emotions that the people felt. Director Patricia Riggen,…

The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy is an adventurous novel about Sir Percy Blakeney, a wealthy Englishman who disguised himself under the false pretence of The Scarlet Pimpernel, a brave and clever man who used preposterous disguises to free innocent French aristocrats that had been convicted and were waiting to be put to death under the wrath of Madame Guillotine. Sir Blakeney was married to Marguerite St. Just, known to be the most beautiful and smartest women in Europe, but in France she was considered a traitor for revealing the Marquis de St. Cyr and his whole family to the bloody guillotine to help her brother Armand get revenge for almost being killed for loving the daughter of an aristocrat. This act of hers disgusted Blakeney, who started showing no love for her even though he would have done anything for her. Although Marguerite still loved her dear Percy, she couldn’t help feeling that he was a pompous jerk. Sir Blakeney’s arch-nemesis Monsieur Chauvelin struck a deal with Marguerite in her assistance to capture the Scarlet Pimpernel and his league in return for her brother’s safe release, as Chauvelin had captured him. Soon after, she realized what a horrible thing she had done and repents to Sir Blakeney, disclosing all the information she knows about Chauvelin’s plan. Sir Blakeney promised to protect Armand and stop Chauvelin by sailing to France. After he had left, Marguerite found several letters in his room stamped with the Scarlet Pimpernel. She realized that he is the Scarlet Pimpernel and enlisted the help of Sir Andrew Ffoulkes. They sailed to Calais as fast as they could in an attempt to warn Sir Blakeney that Chauvelin knew his identity. Their attempt was in vein, but Sir Blakeney was clever enough to figure out what was in store for him. He escaped Chauvelin’s trap and released Armand, revealing Chauvelin as a cruel man and casting a shadow over his name and condemning him to the guillotine. The Scarlet Pimpernel is a story of…

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is a satiric comedy about the quest of King Arthur. The movie starts out with Arthur, King of the Britons, looking for knights to sit with him at Camelot. He finds many knights including Sir Galahad the pure, Sir Lancelot the brave, the quiet Sir Bedevere, and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir Lancelot. Through satire and parody of certain events in history (witch trials, the black plague) they find Camelot, but after literally a quick song and dance they decide that they do not want to go there. While walking away, God (who seems to be grumpy) come to them from a cloud and tells them to find the Holy Grail. They agree and begin their search. While they search for the Grail, scenes of the knight's tales appear and the reasons behind their names. Throughout their search, they meet interesting people and knights along the way. Most of the characters die; some through a killer rabbit (which they defeat with the holy hand grenade), others from not answering a question right from the bridge of Death, or die some other ridiculous way. In the end, King Arthur and Sir Bedevere are left and find the Castle Arrrghhh where the Holy Grail is. They are met by some French soldiers who taunted them earlier in the film and were not able to get into the castle. The movie ends with both King Arthur and Sir Bedevere being arrested for killing a real-life man who was a historian.…

The director made this movie was to catch the viewer’s eye with a true story. It was very interesting to watch because of all of the parenphena going on through out the movie. The director produced this in a way of everything being very precise but at the same time giving it a Hollywood twist. All of the lighting, soundtrack and imagery are on spot and having Leonardo play the role of Mr. Belfort was excellent casting. It felt as though the movie had more than one climax as it as so exciting.…

The film tells the story of Cinderella hardships while overcoming the jealousy, anger and discouragement of her cruel stepsisters and wicked step mother. What this film shows is the unbreakable bond she develops with her mother throughout her adolescent years, the values and morals she taught her and how their special connection continued to grow even after her mother becomes fatally ill. Viewers are not usually introduce to Cinderella parents or being capable of seeing the background story and close relationship she shares with both her mother and father. The storyline shared new aspects that viewers are getting to grasp and understand, far as why Cinderella continued to stay in her mother and father’s home and constantly be mistreated by her step siblings. Viewers start to feel compassionate towards her situation. There were characters who actors did a superb job, such as Kate Blanchett’s Stepmother. The film was captured beautifully. In particular the infamous “godmother and pumpkin carriage” scene was one of my favorite depiction of the scene out of all the Cinderella films. The film was successful at capturing; the glitz, glam, the moral meaning of showing kindness, good fortunes happen such as becoming a princess and you’ll live happily ever after. The film stay true to the original folktale of Cinderella far as significance and subtle gore. The dialogue was tolerable. Overall the film was decent when comparing to the several vision of the popular Disney tale. A 1950's film that looks particularly interesting is Norman Foster’s, “Woman on the Run”. This film's plot sounds intriguing, although I am not a big fan of the Film Noir genre, I do enjoy action movies during this period to compare the advancement of special effects with gun power and explosion to today's Action movies.…

Monty Python and the Holy Grail has been a comic success in the film industry for almost four decades. The main reason for its success is because the jokes have kept the audience laughing whether they watched it in 1975 or just saw the comedy for the first time yesterday. Monty Python and the Holy Grail would fall under two categories of comedy, a satire and a parody. In contemporary usage, a parody is a work that imitates another work in order to; ridicule, ironically comment on, or poke fun at the work itself; the subject of the work, the author or fictional voice of the parody, or another subject. Satire on the other hand is usually witty, and often very funny, although the primary purpose of satire is not humor but criticism of an individual or a group in a witty manner. There are many examples of parody and Satire throughout Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In fact, the whole movie itself is a parody. The movie focuses mainly on King Arthur and his knights’ ridiculous quest to find the Holy Grail and any aspect of society during that time in history is subject to parody as well. The film follows King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table in a chef’s salad of adventures, mainly the quest for the Holy Grail. Three medieval concepts that reoccur continuously in the movie are knighthood, chivalry, courtly love and the wheel of fortune. These motifs are more seriously depicted in the book Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and from tales in the book the Canterbury Tales.…
