Golden Temple, Amritsar
The Golder Temple (Harmandir Sahib/Darbar Sahib), is the holiest shrine of Sikhism. Guru Ram Das Ji founded the city of Amritsar in the 16th centurywhen it was constructed. An active place of worship for Sikhs, the Harmandir Sahib is also visited by people from other religion.

Charminar, Hyderabad
The Charminar was built in 1591 by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the 5th ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. He built this famous structure to commemorate the elimination of a plague epidemic in the city. He is said to have prayed for the end of a plague that was ravaging his city and vowed to build a masjid at the very place where he was praying.
Sanchi Stupa, Madhya Pradesh
The Great Stupa at Sanchi was built by the emperor Ashoka the Great in the 3rd century BC. Its nucleus was a simple hemispherical brick structure built over the relics of the Buddha.
Hawa Mahal, Jaipur
The Hawa Mahal (Palace of Wind) was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. It is shaped in the form of the crown of Lord Krishna, the Hindu god. Its uniqueness is that it is built entirely of red and pink sandstones.
