My problem is that I start to see positive results and began to let up and eat Sunday Soul food dinners or fried foods and it ends up being part of my daily habits, replacing all the positive, healthy ones. It is said that the maintenance stage is one that lasts from about 6 months to 5 years and is one of the most difficult stages to complete due to temptation and changes in confidence (Glanz, Rimer, & Viswanath, 2008, p. 100). On the contrary, my self-efficacy practices have been low, but I’m still able to complete my small daily activities that have already starting making positive changes in my life. The last and final phase is the termination stage in which no temptation to relapse is there and the individual has 100% confidence. This is the one stage in my opinion, that will be the most difficult for me because modifying a diet is lifestyle change that has to be done throughout the remainder of my life. Yes, there will be times were I relapse, but I think the ultimate goal in this process for me is to get my family accustomed to eating healthy so it won’t be such a stigma. The Transtheoretical Model is a process that promotes stimulus control, decisional balancing practices and self-efficacy that could all be beneficial in the progression of changing the unhealthy eating habits that I currently
