The Trinity By Jose De Ribera

There are many great paintings and works of art that depict one of the core aspects of our Catholic faith - the Holy Trinity. Although all of them are breathtakingly beautiful, one of them stood out to me the most. The painting I chose is called The Trinity. The Trinity was painted by Jose de Ribera (also spelled Jusepe, Josef, or Giuseppe) in 1635. Ribera was born on January 12, 1591 in Xativa, Spain. He spent most of his life in Italy and was trained by Francisco Ribalta. He worked in Parma and Rome before marrying and spending the remainder of his life in Naples under Spanish rule.
