In Macbeth, we see a man who is destined to do great things but made a few mistakes along the way. We see an example of the triumph of evil in a man with many good qualities. We see this through Macbeth’s actions and thoughts as he did not want to kill anyone until Lady Macbeth influenced him, his determination changed throughout the course of the play, and he felt guilty about what he has done. Through all of this, we see a man who has been influenced to do the wrong thing for his own good.

Once Lady Macbeth presented the idea to Macbeth that he could be King, he was confused. His reaction proved that Macbeth did not even think about killing King Duncan for his own good. Macbeth stated that since Sinel died, he knows he is now the Thane of Glamis, but questioned how he can be Thane of Cawdor since the Thane of Cawdor is still alive. He addresses Duncan in a positive manner as he calls him "a prosperous gentleman." With Lady Macbeth’s influence on him, Macbeth was determined to accomplish his evil wishes.
We see Macbeth change throughout the course of the play from his determination. At first, Macbeth was determined to win the battle against Macdonwald. Macdonwald betrayed the Thane of Cawdor which meant Macbeth had to defeat him for the good of Cawdor. Macbeth's actions prove that he was determined to do something for the good of Cawdor. His intentions were in the right place, but since Lady Macbeth influenced him to kill people for his own good, he became determined to kill many people for selfish reasons.
