The Tull Family
The Tull family is dysfunctional at best. The relationships between mother and son, brother and sister, and mother and daughter change in many ways. With age comes new life experiences that can mold a person. Some grow up and never learn. Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant does a good job of showing personalities change as its characters get older Cody and Pearl have a turbulent relationship. As a child, he is always the trouble maker. He is always overshadowed by his “perfect” brother Ezra and acts out accordingly. In his teenage years, being the oldest, he becomes his mother’s rock. As he descends into adulthood he grows very distant and resents her for his childhood. He calls her difficult. He lets on that she’ll never be forgiven.

While observing interaction with the Sinclair family from a therapeutic lens, Uncle Earl and Rosa are the two main adults in the family featured in the film who feel a strong obligation to continue to maintain deep family heritage and traditional connections, while meeting the needs of each seemingly challenging individual in the family. Family Development Theory can be used to engage this family by pointing out how deviation from the norm can cause family stress. For example, a family trying to maintain deep connections from past, present, and future will have a huge stress when they are split apart due to slavery, societal injustices, and a civil war. To add to that tension, physical separation in different parts of the country severs relationship and family customs. Rosa fights hard for her daughter, Loretta who has been a deviance to her immediate family, to be a good mother and stop using, by helping her care for her children, encouraging her to get a stable means of income and a job. Rosa goes to the point of giving Loretta a demand to either take the kids down South to Uncle Earl 's for the summer, or she can relinquish them to social services. Rosa shows her…

Clearly, both siblings grew up in a family without morale. As parents, “Tex and Flo” fails to instill good conduct into their children since they didn’t have any themselves. When Perry reaches adulthood, Barbara didn’t love him anymore as “he wasn't her baby anymore but a wild thing, a thief, a robber” (115). Perry’s outcome is a product of a troubled beginning. He succumbs to the same fate as his other siblings, save for Barbara. When each she reaches adulthood, Barbara “goes on to live an ordinary life, married, and raising a family” (69). Barbara gains values elsewhere and builds a family of integrity herself. She is the only exception in the whole family. The differing lives of Perry and Barbara shed light on the importance of learning from the mistakes and mishaps of the…

The movie the Blind side has shown me many traits that make up a great family, but some of these traits are hard to show. The Tuohy family shows the trait of sharing. Which is shown through letting Michael Oher, a stranger that is homeless, into their house. The Tuohy family fed, clothed, and made a place for Michael to sleep. At first Michael had no home, no food, no water, and only two pairs of clothes on him.The second trait that makes for a good family is understanding. This isn't always easy to see, but is shown when Mrs. Tuohy learns that he was kicked out of his house when he was just a little kid. Mr. And Mrs. Tuohy never push Michael too far, but they also don't let him sit around and do nothing either. Another trait that the Tuohy…

In my opinion I don’t agree with Mrs.Jonstone and Mrs. Lyons. I think Mrs. Johnston shouldn’t separate her sons that are twin even though she doesn’t have enough money to take care of her sons. She should work harder for get a lot of money to take care of her sons. For Mrs. Lyons I think she doesn’t do that even though she grows jealous and suspicious because I think it’s not good for everyone and the result it’s not beautiful. For this drama I think it’s funny and it can teach many things to me such as about the class in social, and Superstition and…
