Armed conflicts have always been a recurring reality in Rwanda since many years ago, but the most bloody was the one which started in 1990 and resulted by a big genocide in 1994. So, in my analysis, I will focus specially on the causes of armed conflicts in this African country from 1990 to 1994. In the first cause, I will show the nature of western rule that neither left Rwanda politically nor economically prepared for any independence, thus creating a kind of insecurity in most regions of the country. I will then show the discrimination and the tribal causes based on the misunderstandings between Hutu and Tutsi. In the third part I will discuss the political instability that has been one of the relevant causes of the war in Rwanda. Next, I will investigate the economical causes.
Firstly, westerners’ colonial influence in Africa has played a strong role in creating the conditions in Rwanda for armed conflicts to occur. In fact, colonial powers treated Africa, especially the Rwanda as a series of strategic economic assets and created artificial sociopolitical divisions that did not take into account Rwanda people realities, creating disastrous later aftermaths for this country. Besides, many colonial powers maintained highly
