Due to them introducing these ideals we now are able to prosper as a society. In Greece, people’s right was either decided by your sex or your job. Females didn’t have as much rights as male the ability to vote, own land, or inherit and were encouraged to stay at home and take care of their family. Assitori were the richest in the society and the perioikoi were the second class citizen(Mark, Joshua J. “Ancient Greece.”). The difference between the labourers and slaves were that the labourers were worked for an employer while slaves were either person of war or they were brought. In Ancient Greece, the greek religion was polyphemus, which is the belief in more than one god. They believed that their gods were like human with special abilities but they also had their shortcomings. The gods were created by humans to have a story of how the world came to be and they can to be. Since Gods lived with humans on earth, they were not really scared of the powers they possessed and what they could do to them. Ngai was especially proud of making the mountains because he believed that they had breathtaking scenic views. The first mountain that Ngai create was Mount Kenya and he decided that he would need someone or something to take care of this new world he had created, so he created a strange animal with opposable thumbs and gave it the name Gikuyu and told him his task(Peter J Allen, Chas Saunders. “Ngai-African Creator God”). When Ngai left earth, he would place Gikuyu and his wife Mumbi to take care of his creation and they were not to call on him for help at all. Gikuyu and Mumbi started to reproduce but only gave birth nine daughters. Even though they knew the consequence of calling upon Ngai while he was gone, they prayed and asked for a male offspring (Peter J Allen, Chas Saunders. “Ngai-African Creator God”). Since Ngai only made expectations for urgent matters, he gave them nine husbands to mate with the nine daughters to start polluting the earth. The big idea addressed in this myth is how the humans, animals, the world, and the world’s geography came to be. This myth does demonstrate any values or morals really, but on could be how caring because Gikuyu and Mumbi cared for the children and the world.
