He tells her he has been trying everything possible to save what they had while she is throwing he self at Jeremy (Paige’s ex). I know he was just acting but his love in this movie seemed so genuine and real. From the very beginning of the movie you could see how determine he was to get his wife back. Some believe that if he really loved her he would have never stopped, I think he just gave up because he truly believed that they would find each other
