There are many ways of addressing this problem, but there are many challenges that would inhibit the solutions . To address the obesity issue, I would launch the movement, “The Waist Watcher,” a healthy eating and exercise program. The Waist Watcher program helps participants be consistent with sticking to their healthy-weight plan during the weekdays, weekends, vacations, and holidays.
This movement would help individuals maintain a healthier lifestyle by setting up both an exercise and eating plan. One of the greatest challenges that would hinder this plan would include problems such as people thinking that exercising or eating right is boring. For example, brisk walking , bike riding, rollerblading, or going for a run are great activities for individuals to be active and stay fit. One should accumulate at least 30 minutes or more of moderate-intense activity on most, or all days of the week. Individuals should make sure to reduce their screen time by limiting the use of TVs, computers, DVDs, and video games. In the process, one should insure that they are keeping track of their weight, body mass index, and waist index.
When it comes to eating right, participants should at least eat five to six servings of fruits and vegetables daily by weighing and or measuring their food to gain an understanding of portion sizes. Participants should avoid foods that have a high calorie count in small portions of food.
