With the Wall's family always on the move from place to place, they could never get the opportunity to actually settle down as a family. After being in a hospital for a few relaxing weeks, Jeannette gets some surprising news, “... Dad appeared alone in the doorway of my room. He told me we were going to check out Rex Walls style.. Our car, a beat up Plymouth we called the Blue Goose, was parked around the corner, the engine idling. Mom was up front, Lori and Brian in the back with Juju, Dad slid across the seat next to mom and took the wheel. You don’t have to worry anymore baby’ Dad said
‘You’re safe now.’” From time to time, the Walls family reluctantly travels from place to place, always on the move. As shown, in this hospital scene Jeannette is in shock to why they are in the move in the first place. From this, she is confused to why they are moving so suddenly if all she really needs is at that hospital. After this surprising event, Jeannette wonders why her family cannot be more like this hospital. If only her parents could be as responsible to take care of their children as well as the nurses took care of her.
