Cans has spent many years to find the crucial reasons why people become the poor and who the poor actually are. Her books and the article “The war against the poor instead of programs to end poverty” are closely connected with these problems. She states that people become poor not only when they do not want to work. Sometimes the structure and the atmosphere in society provoke a person to be the poor. Moreover, the government does not have enough incentives to help the jobless, the poor and the middle class to overcome their problems. I personally believe that being the poor in Russia or not is an own personal decision. In this case I suppose that poor people are people who do not have enough money to buy the essential commodities (like food, a teapot, a winter coat and so on). The transformation that has taken place in our country has a huge impact on people’s attitude to life. Sometimes a person desperate to find a job due to he thinks that he will meet the same problems at other working places. If a person does not want to overcome personal money problems, any social programs will be useless. There is an economic model that

Poverty was a huge problem in Britain in the 1900s. Keeping the youth of Britain healthy by giving them school meals was one of the problems, also giving workers sick pay when they were entitled to it, giving the elderly a pension when they reached a certain age, as well as trying to find the unemployed a job, then trying to give those who did have a job a better days work. This survey made the government feel as if they had to help those in need. The liberals came into power during 1906 and started to tackle the problems in several key areas.…
