An author uses literary devices to allow the reader to engage. The author uses descriptive writing to enhance the individual’s imagination. It also gives them ways to relate and a divergent way to think about writing. The three most important literary devices used in The Most Dangerous Game are similes, imagery, and foreshadowing. Richard Connell utilizes these devices to create a fun and inspiring story.…

However, there are many differences as well as similarities between the text and the film. In the book two children pick a fight with Ender: a bully named Stilson and a school rival named Bonzo subsequently both end up dead. Even though, Ender does not find out he had killed them right away it still shows us his capability and his tactics does not just defeat the enemy but destroy them and that is what makes him so important and special although, we do not see this in the movie, Ender fights them but we never find out if they end up dead or if they live. I believe it should have been a part of the movie for various reasons one because it foreshadows what happens towards the end of the movie when Ender participates in the final invasions he…

Ender’s Game is a novel about a child who voluntarily made the decision to military school in order to train to eventually fight in an alien invasion. When reading the novel, the reader is presented with the idea of taking someone’s childhood in order to win. When watching the movie, the viewer gets to see children fighting and preparing for a battle without knowing the overall purpose and message of the novel. Ender’s Game is asking if it is morally correct to train a child for war. In the end though, the novel shows a more fitting message than the movie portrays it.…
In 1939, John Steinbeck wrote The Grapes of Wrath to stir up readers against those who were responsible for keeping the American people in poverty. The Grapes of Wrath tells the story of the Joad family, migrant farmers from Oklahoma traveling to California in search of a fantasy of prosperity. The novel's strong position stirred up much controversy, as it was often called Communist propaganda, and banned from schools due to its vulgar language. However, Steinbeck's novel is considered to be his greatest work. It won the Pulitzer Prize, and later became an Academy Award winning movie in 1940. The novel and the movie are both considered to be magnificent masterpieces.…
One thing they have in common is the setting. For example, they are both isolated. "Countryside-on the moving train"(Foreman 326). The only way out of Hadleyville is the train. "Mirage" thought Rainsford but it was no mirage, he found when he opened the tall spiked iron gate. The stone steps were real enough; the stone steps were real enough; the massive door with a leering gargoyle for a knocker was real enough; yet it hung in all unreality" (Connell ). This quote shows how surprised he is when he finds a mansion in the middle of the island not just any island though its ship-trap island in the middle of the ocean. The only way out for Rainsford "one of the main characters in "the Most Dangerous Game" is a boat. But the setting is also different. For example High Noon is in the old west and it's in the desert. And "the Most Dangerous Game" takes place…
A second aspect of this video that was enlightening is the close relationship Bell Hook and Cornel West have. When watching the video, I could see that Hook and West have a very close relationship. They respect each others opinions, and truly care about what the other is saying. Even if they disagree with what the other person is saying, the respect each other to allow the other person to defend themselves. Because of the relationship they have developed over the years, it seems like it is a lot easier for them to talk about certain things. Hook and West are able to work off each other, and take over where another ones. They include some personal experiences, which makes it easier for me to understand the information they are talking about.…
The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell, is an original nonfiction story about two hunters who take themselves into the Amazon to hunt down animals. Rainsford, one of the main hunters, ends up finding himself on a mysterious island after an accident occurs. Comparing to the film, the characters throughout the scenes differentiate in many ways. Although, the short story itself is entertaining. The changes such as the shipwreck, a love interest, and character development that the director produces a much more dramatic plot, placing the audience on the edge of their seats.…
After watching the movie, Get a Clue, and reading the book, The Westing Game, I noticed many significant differences and similarities. These can change how you watch the movie or read the book. The differences that stood out to me the most were that the movie is told in Turtle’s point of view, there are less characters in the movie, and the characters’ personalities were different. The story can be changed by all of these, and these are the reasons why. The first difference I will talk about is the point of view in the movie and the book.…
