In the spring Ingrid had a book signing, a man known as Barry approached Ingrid and asked her if she would go out with her. Ingrid violated the rules of dating she had once given to Astrid about letting a man stay the night.
Barry decided to end the relationship which resulted in Ingrid to be very upset.
Ingrid started to stalk Barry and where he would go every day.
Barry meets Ingrid at a party and confronts her to leave him alone. In rage Ingrid decided to intrude in this house, he went on his computer and erased every bit of memory on it. Barry was furious and went to Ingrid’s house, he ended up breaking her window trying to get in, and Ingrid was afraid and stabbed his hand.
Ingrid purchased a bottle of DMSO a drug injected into the blood stream. The following night, Ingrid was taken away for murdering Barry with poison from a White Oleander.
Astrid was taken away to a foster care. She lived with a woman named Starr her 4 children and her boyfriend named Ray. Carolee and Davey two of the children are the only ones who associate with Astrid.
Astird goes to see her mother and informs her about her new home and family. Ingrid insists that Astrid write to her every week to keep her updated. Foreshadow: “Lovers who kill each other now will blame it on the wind.” (Fitch 1)
