While looking at how knowledge connects with purpose and meaning in our personal lives, we will see that what we define as meaning and purpose in our lives is not necessarily the entire point; however, we will see that knowledge can be applied in different aspects of our personal lives. Furthermore “how do we know whether we need to gain knowledge to give meaning and purpose to our lives?” Knowledge can be defined as a process of acquisition. It’s how we gain knowledge that shapes us as a knower, rather than the knowledge itself, in which it can be linked to different areas of knowledge; Historiography and moral dilemmas.

This could example include interfering in others affairs such as foreign politics, in which the acquisition of knowledge could mainly be the results of the decision-making. The decision-making can also be a result of the individual’s nature and personal knowledge as virtue has a great affect on the individual knower. It can also be discussed that emotion and psychological terms mold the individual’s perception in which this can have great influence of what meaning and purpose signifies in personal lives. It is important to emphasize that because that we are all taught the same in school and all have the same state laws does not mean that our personal view will be the same. This means that when e.g. comparing a child that have experienced parental violence and a child that have lived in a safe environment can have different points of views of ethical morals.
