The Word Cowardly

The word cowardly can be described as “lacking courage”. It is also a negative word, which when said to someone else can have a negative impact on them. In contrast to the word cowardly, courage means “the ability to do something that frightens one”. Being afraid of something but still deciding to do it, means that the person gathered enough courage deep down to do the thing they were afraid of. With the advice that Socrates gave the scholars, the words courage and cowardly can have different meanings than we think they have. Does it mean you have courage to do the thing you were afraid of doing? By not doing what you are afraid of, did you have enough courage to turn away from being seen as a person that did something heroic? The advice given
