The Worst Day Ever
Not often do I ever get lost. The first time I personally ever got lost was when I was in Raging Waters. It was my first time getting separated from my parents and I didn’t know what to do. It was the middle of summer June 18, 2012. The day was so blistering that you could fry an egg on the side walk. The sun was beaming directly at me. We went on every ride until we came to a ride for my brother {which was extremely boring.} So I asked my dad if I could go on some rides because it was boring standing watching my brother in the water playing. He allowed me to go and said that my grandma was sitting on a bench if I needed something, but I never realized that something was going to happen. As I went on my first ride I came to discover that my grandma had disappeared from the very bench she was sitting on. I looked everywhere, but she was nowhere in sight. And the worst thing was I wasn’t wearing my glasses or contacts, so I could not see much. Then I went to see if my parents were in the same place with my brother, no one. I went to find someone to help me find my parents. We searched and searched everywhere. We even went to the place where my parents were seen last time like at least 15 million times. The search grew longer and my legs were getting very sore. I thought we would never make it to my parents. Who knew, we might as well not find them. I was bummed out. We walked to the tower to call my parents, but they wouldn’t pick up. I was getting really terrified. I sat down, giving up all my strength in looking for them until I saw my mom coming out of nowhere. I was really excited to see her. I passed through the crowd bumping into some people just to get to my mom’s hands so I would feel safe. She hugged and kissed me a bunch of times. I felt happy once more. Now that I have learned my lesson, I am not letting myself out of anyone’s sight. By anyone I mean out of my parents sight.

“Mom, mom, mom, mom!” I was practically screaming. I already knew what she was going to say. I just sat back on the couch and watched as a tear streamed down my face into my hand. I eventually fell asleep on the couch. I woke up at three in the morning and I could see the sun peaking out with the stars and moon retreating back until another night. I don’t know what came across me but I thought to myself why people are so cruel. I looked outside to see if anyone was out there. I just saw an empty street, just like one of those old ghost towns in old western movies.…

My story begins at just the age of 8, we just had moved to a South Texas town, Kountze, this town had about 2,000 to 3,000 people residing in it. My parents had decided this was the perfect place to raise me and my brother who is two years older than me. I didn’t understand much then, but from what I can remember the only problems I had was what flavor of ice cream I wanted when my father took me to the ice cream shop and which Disney channel show was on. But then, as I thought things were just fine, On one summer night I heard noises in my parents’ bedroom and I overheard my favorite hero crying in the bedroom and saying he needed to tell us something terrible had happened. As he sat me down on his lap and told me that grandfather had passed away. My grandfather had been diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after he came from India to America too visit us. My father had to take him back to India when they found out he diagnosed. I sat there not understanding what had happened and hearing my hero in tears for the first time. It was one of first of many forms of tragedy I have had to witness as I thought nothing could shake my father but at this moment I realized I was wrong and got scared, this moment had changed my whole…

It was 2009 and I had been in sixth grade for a couple of months. I was on the phone with one of my friends from school when my mom called through my door for me to come out into the living room. I ignored her and kept talking for a few minutes when she called me out again. I rolled my eyes and told my friend I would call her right back. I walked into the living room and it seemed odd to me that both my sisters and dad were all out there too. I watched my mom take a deep breath with my dad by her side. As she began to speak her voice shook and gloss covered her eyes. “The doctors found a lump in my last mammogram.” she said. “It came back as cancer. I’m going to have to get treatment but I’m going to be okay.” No one else said a word, we all…

One of the worst days in modern American history is September 11,2001. That day was a horrific day of events. On that day the leader of Al-Qaeda Osama Bin Laden ordered the attack on the Twin Towers in downtown Manhattan. This attack was the worst attack in history. When the towers came down it killed almost 3 thousand people. Ever since I was young I have always had a great deal of respect for our service men and women. I come from a military background. Both of my grandpas were in the military. When the attacks on 9/11/01 happened and I got older and came to understand more about what happened I became infuriated about it. I became infuriated that thousands of innocent people died at the hands of some gutless bastard who just wanted to kill Americans just because they were a American. Being an American is everything to me. It means that I have freedoms that other people are not fortunate enough to have. When something happens to my…

I closed my eyes and as I opened them I was looking straight at my mother. That instant our eyes were locked I never wanted the lock to break. Another tear slipped down, and I could taste the salty warmth on my tongue. The crash took five seconds but it felt like ten years. This time I heard the words “I’m wrong mom. I’m sorry mom.” In an instant the noise grew so loud it seemed like I was standing in the middle of a nuclear bomb. Not a second later it was silent and the world around me went pitch…

I don’t remember much about how my family died, I was just a three year old boy; Keenan Waren. All I can remember is it was Thanksgiving day with my whole family. I know it was this day because the smell of the turkey was burnt into my memory, and it’s also what the people at the orphanage told me as I was growing up. Something else I can recall is seeing a tall, bulky shadow holding a green flame in his hand after the lights shut off. Everyone was screaming, but I am still unsure of what was happening to them. My mom carried me out into the rainy night in front of the house in my carseat, and I was crying for the teddy bear my aunt gave me for my first birthday. I kept crying, so my mom covered me with blanket and ran back inside to grab it…
