The Wright Brothers: A Successful Flight In History
The Wright brothers were the first to make a successful flight in history. Orville and Wilbur Wright are inventors who built and flew the world’s first successful airplane. Since their dad traveled a lot he would bring them small toys, so one day in 1878 he brought them a small model helicopter, they grew fascinated by the toy’s navigation and flying. In 1889 the brothers started their own newspaper “The West Side News” and in 1892 they opened their own bike shop. They followed the research of German aviator Otto Lilienthal but when he died in a glider crash the brothers decided to experiment with flight. They went to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina because it was known for it’s strong winds, they would observe the wings of birds for balance and
