Arthur Leigh Allen, a maleficent man with a twisted past that directly leads to the ruthless killer that claimed the lives of many innocent victims. On October 11, 1969 (Bungi 1). Stine was shot in the head by a passenger in his cab, though there were witnesses the description became muddled as it was portrayed to the police. A broadcast, then described the Zodiac differently to what the witnesses had encountered allowing the killer to remain aloof as he walked alongside his captors. ”…2 cops pulled a good abot 2 min after I left the cab. Allen also lived in Riverside on the weekend that Cheri Jo Bates was murdered, and he openly described that the idea of killing people was much more intriguing than hunting wild animals due to their intelligence, a feeling mutually described by the Zodiac in his letters. Which also brings the concern as to why Allen’s handwriting did not match up to the Zodiacs, after all, even the bomb diagram (“Zodiac Killer letters” 7) mentioned in one of his letters was found in Allen’s basement by a search warrant. This is because as a child Allen was taught to write right handed, even though naturally he used his left hand, this would make it very easy for him to change writing style and escape the police suspicion.
On August 26, 1992 Arthur Leigh Allen died of an atherosclerotic heart failure (Grinell 4), this was just before detective George Bawart could have him taken to trial, for he was certain that he was the Zodiac. After his death, there was never another letter nor a murder in the Zodiacs name, though his case may still remain open, his reign of terror finally ended.
All in all, the Zodiac was a merciless killer, that ended the lives of many innocent victims, the confusion and lack of evidence left many unaware as to who he truly was, but despite this, all of the coincidences
