goods. Because there is no religion the “Ford” (by Henry T. Ford) is shown as God. Main characters swear “Oh, mighty Ford!”, there is a Ford day in calendar and whole era is marked by letter F. So the story of Brave New World is taking place in year 632 F where the 1 F means year 1908 AD. The year when first Ford T was produced. Also letter T is used instead of Christian cross.
One of the main topic in Brave New World is a fear of loosing identity. Huxley was afraid and thought that this process is happening during his life time. The loosing identity is one of of side effects of globalization which is strongly connected with Americanization. So in my essay I would like to notice and name marks of Americanization in Brave New
World.
Encyclopedia Britanica defines: “Americanization, in the early 20th century, activities that were designed to prepare foreignborn residents of the United States for full participation in citizenship. It aimed not only at the achievement of naturalization but also at an understanding of and commitment to principles of American life and work .”5 But this process means the effect of USA culture on other countries culture via different brands, popculture and so on. This process began on the beginning of 20th century and is still running until nowadays.
