For example the first two words, “man alien,” shows that it's not just a human and this this particular being is not accepted or welcomed since the word alien is used. One may think of a hero when man alien is mentioned, since a hero is not just a human being they are epic. A hero is also not accepted some places especially when on quests conquering the enemies the disrupt their village or community. The next couple words in the theme J.R.R. Tolkien mentioned is, “in a hostile world,” this part of the statement shows that the man is not welcomed and the land is unfriendly around him. When Beowulf was on quests, he put his life in danger. For example, the battle with Grendel’s mother, he was not welcomed and the villagers living there definitely were not friendly either. The rest of J.R.R. Tolkien’s theme is, “engaged in a struggle which he cannot win,” shows that even though Beowulf may be the noblest of them all, everyone dies at some point. Beowulf was an epic hero that risked his life to save his villagers lives around him, many times.
