Theme Of Harrison Bergeron By Kurt Vonnegut
In the short story “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut the government tries to make everyone the same, the theme I am choosing is that not everyone can be the same. In the story the author talks about Harrison and George having ear pieces that play a very loud and harmful noise that makes them forget what they were thinking or talking about. The reason Harrison and George have these handicaps is because they are very intelligent and the government wants everyone to be the same. The government oppresses Harrison by covering his true beauty by putting black caps and hinging things from him to make him look hideous.
