Gatsby’s feelings for Daisy show that Gatsby is in love with her but he's also obsessed with her like how he was trying to get her attention by moving into a massive house and by throwing parties every week night and by having her cousin nick invite her to his house. Gatsby his love eventually became an obsession when he came back from the army and had learned that she had gotten married because after that he started to come up with ways to somehow get her back to him instead of with tom.
Gatsby became rich over time and once he had enough money he moved into that giant house on the other side of the lake from her house trying to get her attention by throwing massive parties every night to see if she showed up he even came up with lies just to impress her this is more like an obsession. Gatsby eventually asks nick to invite her for lunch at nick’s house so that gatsby could see her and talk to her they end up talking and gatsby ends up taking her to his house and shows how much money he has via the mansion and all his suits and clothes to impress her he does eventually show his love when he tries so hard just to keep her from any harm when it comes to tom or anything else.
