Plot:
Margaret’s entertainment of the stranger made her fall out of reality. Margaret and her two kids arrived at the train station to pick up her husband. When John arrived, Margaret was happy to see him, but her kids are wondering when their dad was gonna get home. The man representing John was not the real John but a stranger. They all got home and unpacked, trying to get back into their lives. Margaret seemed to be entertaining this illusion that the stranger is John even though they know they were playing a role. Margaret kept hoping the illusion could continue with the stranger trying to mimic how the real John would look, walk, and even talk. The stranger would go to work like the real John and while he was away, Margaret would feel a sigh of relief, but when she took her kids to the playground, her old feelings came back. The old feelings scared Margaret to the point of her continuing the illusion even though her older son, kept asking when his real dad …show more content…
Goodman Brown wanted to leave for the forest, because he felt an errand needed to be taken care of in the forest but his wife was persistent in not having him go. Unfortunately, Goodman Brown did not listen and ventured into the forest where he met up with a man who looked just like him. As Goodman was traversing through the forest, Goodman Brown heard the voice of his wife which made Goodman Brown search for her throughout the woods. Suddenly, both Goodman Brown and his wife ended up together at some type of gathering of the towns people. Goodman Brown realized it was some kind of initiation for him and his wife. Goodman Brown urged the heavens and his wife to resist. Goodman Brown woke up the next morning, not sure if the night previous actually happened ; the doubt of the previous night makes him lose faith in his wife, the towns people and
