1. Introduction
We decided to choose Universal Studios Singapore for our project topic because of its reputation. It’s the first Universal Studios in Southeast Asia, since it’s included within Resorts World Sentosa, it gained a lot of tourists from it.
Universal Studios was already a big brand name with its very own movies, themes and more. Tourists are able to stay in Sentosa hotels and play in the park for a few days and that have drawn many tourists. Many friends and relatives have been there so we thought this would be a great theme park to study.
2. Background
2.1 History
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore.
It is the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia (Japan being the first), and the first in Southeast Asia.
The construction of Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore began on 19 April 2008. After almost two years of construction, the park opened on 18 March 2010.
The official grand opening of the park was held on 28 May 2011, along with the grand opening gala being held on 27 May 2011 evening.
