death of his mother for almost a year, and Primrose has been struggling with the knowledge that her father left her as a baby. However, they both eventually learn to move on. All in all, Eggs is a wonderful novel, dealing with meaningful topics and significant ideas, all while being entertaining and charming.
The themes are clearer now, and though we know Spinelli put them there for a reason, we have to ask - are they agreeable? To start, the topic of family’s complicated nature was discussed. I believe that every family is valid so long as its members have love for one another, because every family should love each other unconditionally. Next, I identified the idea that friendships are complicated and aren’t always easy. I agree wholeheartedly with this statement, especially because most individuals will have experienced this firsthand. Lastly, there was the heaviest topic, that being the theme of knowing when to let go. Knowing when to move on is a difficult topic, but I think Spinelli presented a situation in his novel that handled the topic in a positive and realistic way.
