Themes of Catholic Social Teaching Catholic Social Teaching is the core of doctrine created by the Catholic Church concerning poverty, wealth, finances, social assembly, and the role the state plays. The foundations are broadly advised to have been arranged by Pope Leo XIII’s 1891 encyclical letter, Rerum Novarum, which had advanced financial distribution and punished Capitalism, as well as Socialism, even though its roots were traced to the writings of Catholic philosophers like St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine of Hippo, also adopted from existing notions from the Bible.
As to Pope Benedict XVI, its ambition is to “simply help purify reason and to contribute to the acknowledgement of what is just. The Church has to serve as her contribution through cognitive altercation and has to wake the spiritual energy without which justice..cannot prevail and prosper.” According to PJPII, the foundation "rests on the threefold cornerstones of human dignity, solidarity and subsidiarity". These doubts repeat elements of the Jewish Law and the Prophetic books of Old Testament and later recorded in the New Testament.
The church’s social teaching is an opulent abundance of insight on developing a fair society and living out the lives of beatitude with all the confrontations of the worlds society. There are seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching which begins with the life and dignity of the human person.
1. The Catholic Church firmly states that the human life is pure, sacred, and that the nobility of the human body is the mental foundation of a chaste perception for the worlds society. This is the basics of all social teachings principles. In todays society, human life is harshly under barrage because of abortion and killing.
