trying and trying until finally they have achieved what they set out to do and they come out better for it. If humans had never learned what it means to suffer then as a species we wouldn’t be where we are today. Suffering makes us all stronger as a person, psychologically, and even spiritually, so the positive effects can better a life just as much as they can ruin one. Throughout history, there have been many large displays of suffering such as the great depression, famine, and war, even today such events still occur, countries still suffer from all of these horrendous occurrences today. During the great depression many lost jobs and at times food was scarce, a majority of the United States were struggling to get by. Although the New Deal did not ultimately succeed in lifting the United States out of the Great Depression, the United States' mobilization for World War II revived the economy during the late 1930s and 1940s (FDR). Even though we had sunk so low, we still managed to push through and come out on top. Many have hit rock bottom and given up, given up the hope for better, and given up the belief that they can succeed, but there are also many strong minded, intelligent individuals who rose up in the face of hardship.
People such as Opera, J.K. Rowling, and even Walt Disney were not always the huge star, beloved author, or revered movie director that they are known as today. Before Opera became the sassy TV personality we know and love today she worked for Baltimore’s WJZ- TV as a Co-anchor until she was fired because of the low ratings, she was demoted to morning TV, then after seven years she moved to the city of Chicago and her talk show was born taking daytime TV by storm. Another such tale of rising from rock bottom is J.K. Rowling and her famous book series Harry Potter, no one would have thought that a single, divorced mother living on welfare and struggling to get by all while attending school could write such an amazing piece of work, and yet again the world was proven wrong, now as of April 2012 she’s a billionaire. Shockingly even one of the most beloved movie franchises of all time started out as little more than an idea that was scorned by those who never thought it could go anywhere, after all, who would think that a cartoon mouse would ever make it in the movie industry, right? Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because of the claim that he lacked imagination, in fact, he was even forced to dissolve his animation company because he couldn’t afford
to the pay rent. He was told that a giant mouse on a television screen would terrify women, he had swarms of bad ideas he came up with a few good ones. These strong-minded individuals no matter what seemed to be against them like phoenixes rose from the ashes despite any past failures and are now some of the most well-known people in America.
