Managers are used in all aspects of the business world, from hiring new employees, to getting money allocated properly, logistics and even firing low performing employees. Managers are widely used from high tier management such as vice presidents, CEOs. and even chiefs of staff. Managers affect all employees of a business, whether or not they are the top manager their decisions affect the lower staff. The lower staff and must abide by the rules and principles used by their managers. The point of managers is to guide their employees at all times, the mangers hire, properly train their employees, promote great work ethic and facilitate a work atmosphere that gets the work done, and they are the representative to the outside world. "The history of management as it is now understood really starts with the creation of an economic surplus and the subsequent introduction of industrial manufacturing in eighteenth-century England"(Pearson, 2009). This is the time where the idea of division of labor was introduced so that employees that were doing a particular skill well, would cut down cost of production therefore raise profits. The knowledge of the human needs were being developed by different management theorists, in that there were certain needs all humans needed to be successful employees and the motivation needed to keep these people good employees. "Beginning in the 1970 's, Warren Bennis pioneered a new theory of leadership that addressed the need for leaders to have vision and to communicate that vision"(Carpenter, Bauer & Erdogan, 2009). The history of management is always being challenged with new ideas, that help managers facilitate a work environment that produces not only great products, but great employees that want to work for the company and not just for a paycheck.
