The passage “August 2026: There will come soft rains” by Ray Bradbury is mainly about a house in the future. From the context given and the knowledge of Ray Bradbury's style of writing one can assume that this house is placed in a apocalyptic setting in the future. The house is programed to be self maintaining and self relying and it does that after there are no humans around. After reading the passage one can conclude that the central theme is that nothing lasts forever. The house is programed with a automatic system that is self relying and self maintaining.
