CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The researchers conducted this study because they observed many of their batch mates exhibit inferiority complex. They want to know why they are unveiling such manner and what the factors that contribute to inferiority complex are. Because of inferiority complex, their batch mates show some unusual behaviors toward class discussions. One of these unusual behaviors is that students experiencing inferiority complex seldom participate in class and are afraid to contribute their ideas in fear of being humiliated in front of the whole class because his answer is not relevant to their discussion. As a result, they will just sit and listen to the brilliant students with their brilliant ideas. Another obvious unusual behavior is excellent students overpower average thinkers thus making them ashamed to suggest because they know that the outcome of that is brilliant students will only ignore their suggestions and stick to theirs. Finally, it would result to a low performance in school because of inferiority complex.
Inferiority complex per se is one of the leading factors that affect a student’s performance in school. It is believed that inferiority complex itself is subjected to stress for the students. Furthermore, the effect of this among the students can make their lives in school quite alarming.
AVHS, as well as the other schools in Kalibo, has students
