San Juan Bautista is the largest mission church in California at 188 ft. land, 72 ft. wide and 40 ft. high. Inside the massive carved entrance doors on the old red tile floor you can see 180-year old animal paw prints, probably left by some wandering pets before the tiles dried. It also has a cat door in one of the side doors from a time when cats kept mice away. Originally, bells hung from a wooden crossbar in the courtyard and the church had no bell tower. A wooden tower was added in the 1860s and it was later duplicated in concrete. The tower made it easy to ring the church bells comfortably in any weather.…

As you may have recently seen/heard, the war started and lasted abruptly, the bomb has obliterated the entire city of St. Louis. And I am sure you have heard of the fireman that made our town famous. Yes, the one about Sir Guy Montag, how the “fireman” had to burn his own house down for having books in his home. The rare thing about that incident was what happened after his house was burned. He burned a man and killed the other two firemen. That was the thing that set me slim. The talk in this district is mad. You almost can bet what it’s about. It is either about the fireman who set the world on fire or the bomb that hurt everyone. The survivors are going insane! There is no order in this chaos we call a town! And I, as Captain Beatty’s replacement, have a few simple proposals as in how to restore the peace to this mad house I call home. There will be no more book burnings for this town. Not only will the books be kept safe, but they will be cherished. First off, I am going to make an organization called Books for Homes. Everyone will help restore the homes that were destroyed in the horrible tragedy. Each home and family will have one book. Everyone in the household will remember that one book and have it passed down to their family and so on and so on. Everyone will have a shred of knowledge of the past and will have some type of understanding of the times before. Secondly, there will be a town cleanup for a week. Our town was already dead before the bomb; it passed away from lack of knowledge and the truth. The bomb just got rid of the carcass of the town like a vulture on a dead body. I will help this town resurrect from the ashes of what once was to what it could be. Next everyone in the town will have a food drive to help feed the families that lost everything. This town will make a complete 360 ° flip. Everyone will have to act as one and unit to make the change. It takes one step to cross the…

Why do we write essays, anyway? A writer may write for several reasons, but one of the main reasons a writer composes an essay is to clarify for a particular audience his/her answer to a specific critical question about the world around him/her. A thesis statement—which is essentially a relatively succinct answer to a critical question—aids in this communicative process by helping an audience understand what question the writer is asking, why that question is important, and how the writer has responded to that question.…

Why should we care that people go to college? Because in a world of immense risk, higher education might be the last slam dunk bet. The San Diego de Alcala Church and its belfry was built in 1632 by the people of Polo. Residents were taken to forced labor to complete the church after the town gained its independence through Father Juan Taranco and Don Juan Monsod. The belfry and entrance arch, which are over four centuries old, are the only parts of the edifice that remain to this day. The main structure was destroyed by bombs during the Japanese occupation. This disease is frequently overlooked since the infected individuals are often asymptomatic unless the infection is severe enough to cause obvious signs of infection such as abdominal enlargement or actual passage of worms from orifices. Intestinal parasitism is a persistent problem in our community and it is precipitated by poor sanitation and hygiene, and limited supply of clean water. According to DOH, the most affected are the children ages 2-14 years old and the common consequences of intestinal parasitic infections have shown to affect their nutritional status, physical development and mental function.…
