Reseach Locale The respondents of the study were students, teachers and parents of Agusan National High School, Butuan City. The Agusan High School was the first established in Cabadbaran, Agusan as an extension of the Cabadbaran Elementary School in 1919. Due to the small number of students enrolled at Cabadbaran, the high school was transferred to Butuan (still a municipality and the capital of Agusan) the high school was separated from Butuan Central Elementary School and made an independent unit. The school was manned by six teachers including a principal with an enrollment of around 268 students. The pioneer senior class composed of 24 students and graduated toward the end of the school year in March, 1928. On December 8, 1941 due to the outbreak of hostilities in World War II, the school was closed. It was reopened on July 16, 1945 during the early days of liberation. Registration was conducted in the town kiosk at the Guingona Park and under the Acacia trees near the old market place. The present City Court and Library which was then a mass of debris was converted into a school house together with the tennis court in the P.C. ground. The Agusan National High School was converted into a City under the jurisdiction of Butuan City by the following authority. 1.
