ESSAY (My Teacher)
My teacher, My hero! A famous quote in academe world. A man named Crispher Jay Gomez de Guzman, is a man of passion and potential. He is a silent type of person but once he speaks, everybody listen. They say “My teacher, My hero” but I say “My teacher, My IDOL”.
A teacher has his or her own style or way of motivating their students. Motivation plays an important part in a student’s success of learning and development. There are times when teachers spend more time with their students than most parents do, thus, a teacher is fundamental in shaping their students success. If parents or teachers are poor leaders our children are the ones who are at a disadvantage. When they shine as leaders our children blossom and the world is wide open to them.
As a future teacher it is of utmost importance that I make sure to find the best style of teaching for the students I will be teaching in order for them to receive the best education possible. The essential characteristics of a teacher can be categorized into a few main teaching styles or leadership styles. Directing, participating, delegating, and combined styles are the main forms of teaching and leading. The qualities associated with these styles are imperative to any teacher. The purpose as teachers is basically the same as any good leader, to provide purpose, direction and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission which in this case is to educate.
A teacher's personal characteristics are also crucial factors in students' development and motivation. To instill motivation a teacher has to know his/her students and their capabilities. A teacher must know what the students can relate to, what tasks the student are capable of, and what method of teaching will relate to the students. If a student can handle not being supervised on a task, then the teacher doesn't have to “baby sit” them.
