He set off on a great adventure in pursuit of eternal glory and drops what everything he was doing at home. Celebrating a quinceañera was not only about having a big party but also a tradition that helped shape me into the person I am today. To nearly all teenage girls what comes to mind when they think or hear about a quinceañera is the party. They imagine the dress, the limousine, the enormous reception hall and the dance. Problem is; that most eager birthday girls including myself, it takes the whole experience to really understand how symbolic and meaningful the celebration really is. Although it may simply be a big fifteenth birthday party to some girls but, for me it was an eye opening learning experience.…

To explore her own relationship Rosalind counsels others on how to love. She curses Orlando for his superficiality of the symbolic love notes and his tardiness, and blatantly questions, ‘you a lover?’ and yet Rosalind desperately yearns for acceptance, herself admitting, ‘I cannot be out of sight of Orlando’. Despite such clear sightedness, Shakespeare suggests belonging and love is a difficult process. Rosalind’s genuine love and Orlando’s simple heartfelt affections embodies the notion that time and patience is required for fulfilment of his love. For Celia and Oliver however, time is no factor, ‘no sooner met but they looked, no sooner looked did they love.’…

In all of the literary works we've read this semester, all of them have contained characters with similar and distinctive qualities. Some of them were similar in the ways they handled what circumstances they were given, and others were not even near alike with their heroic actions or decisions. Two characters that I found to have similar as well as distinctive qualities was Sir Gawain from "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," and Don Quixote from "Don Quixote de la Mancha". These two characters just stood out to me. They both had moral and cultural values; some were more obvious than others.…
