One small decision could affect everything later on. Sometimes people have to learn when enough is enough and it is time to give in. Make the right decisions are hard, but think of what would happen in the long run. Mary says, "Wes is already gone"(Moore 107). Wes has been arrested for shooting Ray and he has decided to not run and be corporative with the police and go peacefully. Mary cannot believe that he results to murder for his gang. The other Wes's decisions show that Wes made a choice to not run and that he needed to grow up and do what was right. By not running he is finally trying to do something right. His decisions help him with his prison time because he would only be charged with one fine, murder, instead of murder and resisting arrest. Do not let someone making a poor choice pressure someone into doing something that could negatively affect them later on. One simple bad choice could lead into something huge. People are very intimidating, but that should not affect the decisions that everyone makes. Wes Moore says, "You wanna tag? I couldn't say no"(Moore 80). Shea has just asked Wes if he wanted to tag and he said yes, but they both got caught by the police. Wes could not say no to tagging with Shea because he is suppose to look out for her, and if she tags by herself she could get hurt or do something worse. Wes's decisions show that Wes made that choice to break the law and if he hadn't tagged he wouldn't have been sent to military school. His poor choices decided his future. Wes could have chosen the right path and gone home, but he decided to make the right choice with Shea by looking out for her, but the bad decision by breaking the law. The decisions someone makes can decide their life. The decisions someone makes will create their life. They have control over the choices they make, but not their fate. Just because someones life is bad and surrounded by terrible does not mean they cannot make good
