INTERIOR DESIGN DEPARTMENT

( THESIS (INTERIOR DESIGN 4A) GUIDELINES

BACKGROUND:

The Interior Design Department of the College of Fine Arts and Design Thesis Program covers Summer (Thesis Preparation) and First Semester (Thesis). At the terminal stage of the program, the student should be able to:

1. Propose a problem, a feasible and innovative art and design solution addressing the given thesis problem 2. Apply one’s creativity and enhance the intellectual ability in research, design and artistic skill in coming up with solutions to the proposed problem 3. Articulate and substantiate the proposed solution in a systematic manner that would meet the standards set by the College 4. Apply sound theories and practical solutions under the supervision and approval of the adviser 5. Defend one’s work by appearing before a deliberation forum

    There a several Steps to Solving a Problem Process and in the paper I will use three of the many stages to solve one of the problems I struggle with on a weekly and daily basis. Stage one of the creative process – searching for the problem – emphasizes the importance of responding to problems in triggering one’s creativity (Ruggiero, 2009). Stage two centers on expressing the problem or issue innumerous ways and finding the most creative and helpful ideas. Obtaining the information necessary to solve the problem or issue is the objective of the third stage. The fourth and final stage of the creative process deals with producing the ideas necessary to solve the problem or determine a stance on the issue.
