Poverty, as defined by dictionaries, is the state of being extremely poor or the lack of money to afford basic education, maintain health, and buy other basic necessities such as clothes, food, water, shelter, and electricity. However, poverty is much more than just being poor. It is a sickness that impacts everyone including the youth of our country. Poverty has been experienced in our country for as long as the Philippine History can remember. With this in mind, our government has proposed a program that is hoped to help our fellow Filipinos rise above their economic struggle. …show more content…
He also showed that the incidence of illness among children retrenched. Beneficiary families were also noted to have increased their food expenditures with the assistance of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, allowing family members to consume more nutritious and quality food and bulk up calorie intake. A research was conducted by a group of Asia Pacific Journal of Education, Arts and Sciences scholars last year (Garcia & Menez, 2015). Findings bespoken that six out of eleven or roughly 55% said that the children who are beneficiaries of the 4Ps have attended classed regularly and are doing good in class. On the other hand, three out of eleven or about 27% have been recorded to have attended classes infrequently and sometimes they do not. Consequently, it proposes that the children who have 4Ps benefits are less likely to ship class due to sickness or unwillingness. The 4Ps intend to provide the basis for this much-needed equality by providing the poor people with the education that they could not access otherwise Two of the most basic yet also most powerful aspects on a child’s development are their health and education (Mella, Osido, Suing, 2011). With the use of Pantawid Pamilya, beneficiary households are given the chance to pursue a stable education together with a healthy body. After all, everyone must have a healthy body to be able to go to school and attain proper education. Investing in children’s human capital and ensuring that they grow into educated and healthy adults, is the equivalent of teaching them how to fish. In the nutshell, the underlying concept of the The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs, and of the 4Ps as wells, is: once individuals are healthy, better fed, and educated, they will be able to overcome poverty in the long run (Valencia, 2009). This in fact is a big step for our country in resolving the problem of diversity and inequality that has long been noticed yet still unaddressed.
