The Internet is a resource which has all but completely broken down the idea of accuracy and legitimacy in sources. Make sure that if you are using an Internet source, it is a reliable one. Internet sources which are unreliable can be so for several reasons. First, many times a web page is designed by an individual who is not affiliated with anything which monitors their legitimacy. This means that no one is looking over their shoulder to make sure that the information they present is credible. They can present opinion as fact, and often times this is actually what happens. Another aspect of Internet information which can cause unreliability is association with a commercial company. If the URL is accompanied by a dot com, this may mean that the site has information which is chosen to be presented based on the fact that it monetarily benefits a certain company. It is best to use sources which end in dot org or dot edu. These sources are generally not sustaining a profit, but are subject to scrutiny before they are published. Then, sit down with a blank sheet of paper and a pen, or a blank word document or w/e, and just write about that topic, free handed. Don't stop to think, just keep writing for 60 seconds. If you can't think of something to write, just write squigglys on the line or something, just anything to keep your hand moving. This will help because your brain associates thinking, atleast for research papers, with your hand moving/writing. After you do this for each topic, stop and read them back. Whichever one sounds the best, and/or sounds like you could really expand on it, use that
