Random assignment means to randomly assigning the participants into the two group, which I won’t be doing in this experiment because I would already know which group to place the subjects into, either the physics or the non- psychics. Meanwhile this experiment is about ESP between two definite groups of people (psychics and non-psychics), therefore, variation between the subjects is not significant. Also, as long as we can draw the difference between real psychics vs. non-psychics, our data will be not be interfered with each other. 2b. The only materials I am going to use in this experiment are the Zener cards and a person to handle the Zener cards, in an systematic method. In the original Zener card experiment, J.B. Rhine slanted off the patterns on the cards with his body language. However, in my experiment, I would conduct the experiment in a very quiet room with a wall between the subject and the conciliator in order to prevent as much flaws as possible. 2c. In order to control for guessing, I would set a time limit to say each answer and penalize for incorrect answers. It could be done by subtracting a quarter-point (0.25) for each incorrect answer, which will most likely be able to prevent
