The American System was an economic plan that rested on three reinforcing parts: a new national bank that would cultivate commerce, a tax on imported goods to protect American industry; and federal financial aid to improve roads, and canals. The plan combined and balanced the nation’s agriculture, commerce and industry. The plan was thought up to strengthen and unify the nation in order to become economically independent of Britain.…
From their very genesis, the New England and Chesapeake Colonies displayed stark differences and contrasts. The former was founded mostly for religious reasons and the latter for purely economic ones. Though both regions were in relatively close proximity, comparably, they greatly differed religiously, politically, socially, and morally (in so far as their perception/exploitation of Native Americans was concerned). The exploration of these different colonies will prove to be particularly fruitful due to the fact that we can understand how their early influences shaped the modern day east coast.…
The Chesapeake and New England regions harbored two different societies though each region had a large population that was of English decent this was due to many reasons the two societies settled in the Chesapeake and New England regions. For example the settlers in the New England region migrated to the Americas to escape the Church of England and to be their own church that would be based on their ideals. The settlers in the Chesapeake region were there on behalf of the Church of England as well to make money for themselves. The economy in both of the regions differed as well because of the difference in ideals. Moreover the New England region wanted equality between everyone no matter the stature of the family and that was largely due to their religion, whereas the settlers in the Chesapeake region where there to make money and it was based on your social class. Politics played a major role in the Chesapeake region because it was determined by how much money the settlers made. In the New England region politics was based on religion, which was determined by your role in the church and ultimately the society.…

By the 1700s the English came to the New World and settled in The Chesapeake and New England regions. The lives of the people settled in these regions were centered on two dissimilar lifestyles. Distinctive differences between these regions were in expectations, beliefs, and social cultures. The differences created a clear cut between North and South. The wide gap between the development of The Chesapeake and New England regions was mainly because of the way their lives were centered. The Chesapeakes were geared around monetary profits and striking it rich, while New Englands focal point was about family and religious freedom.…
Geography led New England to develop into a commercial and industrial region. The land and climate don't support large-scale farming, but natural harbors made fishing, shipping, and shipbuilding profitable. Fast-moving rivers ran mills and machinery to manufacture goods. A strong working class developed.…

Life in America is not a struggle between being an individual and being a member of the community. The United States were founded on the principles of freedom; anyone can be or do anything if they so please. In fact, nonconformity is becoming more popular than conformity with the advent of social media and new, various ways to connect with others. As a millennial, I grew up in a world where I was not shepherded into a community. Day in and day out, there was no social repercussion for not “being cool” or wearing the “right” clothes.…
In the “The Good Society”, Goodman, challenges relativism, in presenting the debate, that there are some things that are just wrong, no matter what. In other words, we are all held to a universal moral requirement. No matter what race, religion, ethnic background, sex, financial status we hold, or political stance, we as a human may be, or hold, we all have a moral duty to fulfill as human beings. Not only to ourselves, but to each other as well. Which points out one of the three main things Goodman suggests our human right to life.…

North Carolina is an incredible place to call home. From the mountains to the coast, the state is filled with so much to do and a diverse population. The major companies and prestigious universities make it a wonderful place to do business, and the many famous people from the state make it reputable and respectable. The economy is decent, and the crime rates are satisfactory and not high compared to several other states. North Carolina is also a ‘swing-state,’ so the political climate is moderate and the Republicans do not outweigh the Democrats or vice versa. Many people like the fact that their vote counts. The problems that North Carolina has do not overshadow the marvelous aspects of the state.…
The north has no slaves at all but the still don't treat the African Americans poorly. There are many major cities here but they are all crowded and and dirty. There are warm summers and snowy cold winters with a short growing season. The forest is used to build ships which is very helpful since most of the cities are built on coastlines. The rivers here are not easy to navigate they are very fast and shallow. The terrain is not good for farming it is Rocky and hilly. Here they have discovered how to use waterfalls for energy. It is a good place to be there are many factories so it is easy to get a job. They also have public education and it worked out well and…
