The employment-at-will doctrine also states that an employee is hired based on his/her will and may choose to leave at any time after post-employment. The same applies to the employers in the sense that they can fire her for good cause, bad cause or no cause. The employer does not hold any legal liability as long as no contract was signed upon employment. There is an exception that states that an employer may not terminate the employee if public policy supports the employee. In this case where this employee is not protected under public policy and since she cannot perform her duties, she should be fired. Teachers could be the best way for a student to succeed in school. Unfortunately they can also be the Achilles heel to one. We all have dealt with a teacher who has no intention of getting students to learn, but has every intention on teaching. We need teachers to inspire and push their students creatively to learn and reach their full potential. In Mike Rose, I Just Wanna Be Average, the main character, Rose, explained that “teachers have no idea on how to engage the imagination of kids” (348). In most cases this is true, sometimes teachers feel like the only thing you need to be successful is many worksheets and unexpected quizzes.…

I clearly remember my Algebra teacher, Mr. Craig Lipscomb. He treated every student with respect. He expected his students to follow his instruction, lest they get it wrong. I also clearly remember taking shortcuts which invariably led to incorrect answers. He would gently lead me back to his instruction and methods, which invariably led to the correct answers: Imagine that! After a few weeks, I finally understood that Mr. Lipscomb was leading me in the right direction. All I had to do was listen, follow his instructions, and do my homework.…

teachers can make a huge difference with giving correct expectations to the class along with the student. As teachers we must remember to model and be the example for the students if you put them in a group to work join a group with them and then the students will see you doing it is well and then they know the correct behavior. I don't want to be the teacher who gives an assignment and then retracts back at the desk filling out grades I want to be involved and relate to the students and work with them.…

People also learn better through preparation and the enthusiasm that the teacher shares with her students. I find that a successful teacher makes new material fun and fool students into learning. Memorable teachers are not the ones, who are the most pleasant to their students, but they are not the toughest ones either, they are the one that make you work for your knowledge, and you appreciate it, naturally much later in life.
