Thinkseries Introduction
Zenith-Scarlet Li, St. Rose of Lima’s College

Hello there, everyone! This is Zenith here, currently attending St. Rose of Lima’s College in Secondary 4. I’ve lived in this universe for sixteen years already, but I swear I’ve never come across this sort of experience before, it’s etched in my mind, you know. Well, it’s the THiNKSeries program I’m talking about. I’m so very glad to be here this year as the third student representing my school for being one of its leaders. Plus, loads of thanks to all my facilitators for giving me this humongous chance to be admitted and can be able to express myself with no holds barred!

I’m not a hundred percent sure that everyone here knows anything about the Enneagram thingy. Well, certainly some have been acquainted with this I reckon, but still I’ll explain that to you in case you haven’t heard about it. The Enneagram is a kind of personality type test, and which can divide each and every one of you into nine different groups of people who possess diverse natures. I’ve checked on which type I’m from all the way through the first two meetings. And the results have come up: Type Seven, the Enthusiast. I suppose if you know me well enough, that’s not hard to guess. Alright, so let me briefly introduce myself in the midst of the Enneagram type I’m in. I’m enthusiastic about almost everything that catches my attention, which simply means that I approach life with curiosity, optimism, and a sense of adventure, for like kids in a candy store who look at the world in wide-eyed, rapt anticipation of all the good things they are about to experience. I constantly seek new and exciting experiences, but can become distracted and exhausted by staying on the go. There are indeed both positive and negative sides of every Enneagram types, but the main point is, we should look at the dark sides, and try to alter them one by one. Well, I’m not certain if I can be able to do it, but I’ll definitely try to work on that in no doubt.

Recommended a fit between the enneagram type descriptions and the comparing formats on the Millon and Myers-Briggs inventories. The results indicated a Cohen’s Kappa Coefficient ranging from .76 to 1.00 for the nine types for reliability. The concurrent validity was highly significant for both the Myers-Briggs and Million scales and the nine personality types (Wagner & Walker, 1983). In figure 2.3 Richards (1997) presented a chart summarising the Enneagram Types and the MBTI types based on findings from combined data generated from a study conducted by Richards, Flautt and Baron (Richards,…

Throughout my four years of high school, I have consistently pushed myself beyond my limits and comfort zones in attempt to discover my place in the world. I spent most of first two years discovering who I was as an individual, ultimately manifesting into inspiration for success. I grew out of “fitting in” and decided to turn my life and aspirations towards a greater direction; on this road of discovery, I separated myself from those who valued arrogance and indifference. “Nerd Squad” is what I am a part of today, which is why I am currently confident enough to apply for the National Honors Society Scholarship. I believe I have grown into a tenacious, sympathetic, and joyous young man that the entire school has seen develop, and I am honored…

I never imagine that I will take any academic award in high school or any time for all that matter. When I stepped excitedly and nervously into the stage to get my third academic letter award in high school, it was the most amazing moments in my life; and without a doubt, it was a fantastic fantasy in between my hands. Arriving at my new school excitingly, Marshall High School, I met my new counselor, who was the first person I met in school. She told me about the school system, the teachers, clubs/organization and my own classes; all that was eagerness and thrilling. We walked around the school; I started imagine who I will be and who I will be friends: one of the popular students, the normal students, or the losers.…

On August 18,2016 will live forever ingrained in my mind. At 9:22 as I stepped foot in a class named Aice Global perspectives. A classroom filled with thirty-one students, some of which who were seated in their seats but others stood against the wall. “Ding, dang”, after the bell rang, Ms. Cunningham began to clear her throat at the podium that demanded silence from the class. As her Tented red lips split open to state,“welcome to Aice global perspectives...the most challenging class that you will encounter this year”, then she started to pass out the class syllabus. This white as snow paper give us clear instructions on the assignments and dates they were to be complete. A part of me hoped the syllabus was a horrible joke yet with a stone…

Who would preach, take part in the weekly play, present the news, etc. The atmosphere of the school has helped me a lot. The STEMs are boarding schools in Egypt where you can learn more about people because you are living with them. I have joined the school IT-team because of my experience and knowledge in technology where I was responsible for helping people who are new to using technology in learning. Fix problems with laptops, computers, projectors, etc. After a while I became the organizer of the team. I have dawned, appeared, loved people, and be loved. After just one year in the School, I ran for the vice secretary office in the school’s student union, and unsurprisingly there has been unanimous agreement upon me. I helped the secretary and we both carried out a lot of missions, starting a foundation for teaching STEM students different skills. Influence, my highest principle, has driven me to share my knowledge through this foundation. I have given an introductory course to the java programming language and I worked to look for people who have the will, desire and motivation to help their colleagues…

I walked into school for the first time as a freshmen and was instantly lost, and not just in the directional sense. In that moment everything that my counselor had told my class came back to me. SAT’s, ACT’s, and AP’s were all random assortments of letters whose spelled-out versions were as foreign to me as the dates that I had to take the actual tests. If someone had told me I had to take my ABC diagnostic exam the next day, you would’ve found me at my dinner table studying that night. I was afraid I would be this lost for the entire year, except I had forgotten that I had accepted an invitation to a new program called the Distinguished Scholars Academy (DSA).…

I would say that I am a beginning thinker, I have control of all of my own personal thoughts I know that I am not always correct most of the time during each step of the thought process but I feel that I have a really good understanding of how to fix some of the issues that I have when in thought. Although some of the conclusions that I come to either workout for the short-term or long-term issue or have a tendency to be the opposite of the outcome that I was hoping for. I sometimes catch myself making a quick decision without fully thinking through the whole concept or the outcome that it will have on the issue that I am working on.…

Elementary days had gone and the journey to success must go on. I spent my high school life at Don Salustiano Aquino Memorial National High School. It is the only public school in our town. It is unbelievable that this year is my last year in high school. As I look back at the past three years, there were several poignant moments when I was struggling with my classes and would have given up trying to achieve my goals. But as an diligent student, I chose to endure those moments, and that is why the faculty council should choose me as a member of the National Honor Society. As an international student, I have experienced great cultural diversity and I also have become a more independent and responsible individual through my special circumstances.
