Thirst For Power In Macbeth
The General statement made by William Shakespeare in the play Macbeth is that conflict that comes with the thirst of power can cause someone to conform, then is challenged to decide whether to pursue the desire of the thirst of power or conform to a regular life. More specifically, when Macbeth is given the prophecy from the three witches, he then has the thirst for power that makes him lose all of his morals.
When Macbeth is met by the three witches, they predict that his title will be upgraded to King, after hearing this prophecy he is both sceptical and filled with joy. And to help him with those decisions are the witches and their prophecy and his wife Lady M. Macbeth is under the stress of conforming to the prophecy, and fearful of Lady M's berating and manipulating tactics. He is fearful of killing the King as he does not want the King's blood on his hands. Macbeth's dilemma is becoming King by way of murder or staying Thane of Cawdor. Either Macbeth fills the prophecy and pleases his wife even if it is by way of murder.
Macbeath ends up killing King Duncan,and conforms to his wife's orders and to the witches prophecy.Threw the rest of the play we see a different Macbeth, a Macbeth that becomes more arrogant,now that he has quenched his thirst for power.Killing of anyone who could possibly harm him down the road.But with a new prophecy telling Macbeth what can kill or harm him.The first apparition is telling Macbeth to beware of Macduff,the second one is telling him that no man born of woman can kill Macbeth,the third says that till Birnam wood moves he is to be king.
In conclusion the fact of conforming can bring you up to the top,but it's the fall that you have to be aware of or prevent from happening.
